A Life of No Fear

I live my life passively
Never thinking of how
One thing I do can
Affect all the rest.
If I was a bird
I'd fly.
I'd fly and fly
until I coud not
fly any longer.
Just then do I think
of what I'm going to do next.
But it might be too late.

  1. Hmmmmmmmm...

    It scares me to think
    That I’m going too
    High.
That if I look down now,
    I’ll fall
    And break
    Into a thousand pieces.
    I’m frightened to know
That I have worn myself out
    Before anything has begun.
    A life full of fear,
    Or one without,
    Who is the judge
    Of which is better?

just had to respond in a poem :D

  3. Wow. WOW. I love this poetry dialogue! If I were more of a poet, I'd weigh in too :o)
Your poem, Ketchupman, is perfectly timed. I've been watching 'An Inconvenient Truth' (movie) - have you seen it? I can't tell whether there's any irony in your poem or not. I do think that so many of us live passively. Your flying analogy really got me though - same with yours, Kiki. There's something about flying that resonates so deeply for me...

  4. My feetland on the ground.
    They make what a sound.
Still fluttering, I awoke from the dream with a jolt,
The vision is gone but the feeling is funning up and down me, a lightning bolt.

  5. I really like the shape of the poem, Ketchup .... question ... why the shape of an hourglass? Or maybe they are wings? I just need to change my perspective. Lovely writing regardless.
